Fire and Emergency Services

The Brookville Volunteer Fire Company (BVFC) is dispatched through Jefferson County 9-1-1 as Station 2 with the location of the firehouse at 240 Madison Avenue Brookville Borough. The four bay station with a social hall on the second floor was built in 1991. The BVFC is the only fire station in the borough of Brookville and has sole responsibility of providing fire protection to its residents.
 
Four major highways go through the borough consisting of, Interstate 80, Route 322, Route 36 and Route 28, all with heavy truck traffic. Brookville Borough has one of the busiest exits on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania with two large truck stops, three motels, and several restaurants and fast food franchises. Two of the largest industries in the borough consist of, Berry Plastics and Miller Welding and Machine, plus smaller manufacturing plants throughout the district. Brookville Hospital is located in the borough along with Laurelbrooke Assisted Living and the McKinley Health Center, which are the largest elderly care complexes in the area.
 
The Brookville Volunteer Fire Company hosts a staff of Volunteer Firefighters trained in aspects of firefighting, Hazmat, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services with varying degrees of certification. They also provide a Junior Firefighter program for candidates between the ages of 14 to 17. On average they respond to over 250 calls for service within the Borough and surrounding townships for mutual aid responses. Those interested in volunteering can call 814-849-5400.
